Ruby Bowles Skiles

Ruby was born October 8, 1932, at Tad, WV, daughter of the late James F. Bowles and Frances Carte Bowles. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Orville, James and Franklin Bowles; and grandson, Daniel Graham.

She was a 1951 graduate of DuPont High School.

Ruby is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, Harold Elvin Skiles; daughters, Paula (John) Junkins of Wheeling and Brenda (Steve) Graham of Elkview: two grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ruby was formerly employed by the C & P Telephone Company, Stone & Thomas and Russell Stover Candies. She was a born-again Christian of the Pentecostal faith. In her earlier years, she was very active in church. She loved listening to and singing gospel music.

Ruby had several hobbies down thru the years, including sewing, knitting, flower arranging, ceramics, scrapbooking and reading. She loved books and dolls and had quite the collection of both. She loved animals, especially dogs.

Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, will be handling all of Ruby’s arrangements; however, at Ruby’s request, there will be no services.
