
Thomas E. Slack, 42 years old, born July 15, 1973, went home to be with Lord on March 15, 2016. Tom died at home after a long illness. He was saved and baptized April, 1979 and was a member of Spring Fork Missionary Baptist Church, Campbells Creek; a 1991 graduate of DuPont High School and attended West Virginia State College and Rio Grande College. Tom taught gymnastics over 20 years, God blessed him with a great talent. He taught at Mavericks, Will Power, Rio Grande College and Camp Vega in Maine and eventually owned and operated his own Mountaineer Gymnastics Club in Big Chimney. His greatest joy was seeing the kids’ accomplishments and coaching boys’ team. He loved his family and friends and he had a great sense of humor. Tom was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Fay Hopkins and William I. and Ingelberg Slack. He is survived by mother, Pamela H. Slack; father, Michael A. Slack; brother, Mike (Christie) Slack; sister, Tiffany (Michael) Kauff; and three nieces, Brooke and Taylor Slack and Charley Kauff. The family sends special thanks to Nick Crawford, Heidi Bonwell and Will Edmond. The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2016, at Spring Fork Missionary Baptist Church, 320 Campbells Creek Drive, Charleston, with Pastor Mike Long officiating. The burial will follow the service at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service on Monday at the Church.
