Zula Jane Ashman, affectionately known as Maw Maw or Maw Maw ZuZu, departed this world on December 7, 2025, following an arduous struggle with breast cancer. Born in Charleston, West Virginia, in 1928, she reached the age of 97.
Zula was preceded in death by her two husbands, John Parcell and Frances Ashman, and three children: Nancy Wilkerson (Parcell), Isaac Rose (her brother whom she raised as her son), and an infant child.
She is survived by three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden with Pastor Rick Wilkinson officiating. Burial will follow at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow.
A visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.
