Cornelius H Maher

Cornelius H. Maher, commonly known as Neil and lovingly referred to as Murpher, passed away in his home comforted by his family on Friday July 21st, 2017. He was born in Orange, New Jersey on February 27th 1938 to Agnes and Thomas Maher. He was the brother of Thomas, Joseph, Mary, and William Maher (all deceased). He recently resided in Manahawkin, New Jersey since 2001. He retired from Automatic Switch, East Hanover, NJ, in 2002. He was also a loyal employee of Perlmart Shoprite in Manahawkin from 2003 to 2017. Neil loved his job at Shop Rite, and looked forward to going there at 5 in the morning. Even during his struggles with health problems, his one goal was to get back to work. He is survived by his wife Barbara Maher (Cuccurullo), and his daughter Michele Stout (Maher), and son-in-law David Stout, and grandchildren Dana Conrad (Stout) and Sarah Williams (Stout) and great-grandchildren Lily Marmora, Brandon Williams, Harrison Conrad. Beloved daughter Colleen Solowski (Maher) and son-in-law Jeffrey Solowski. Grandson Scott Grala and great-granddaughter Madison Grala. Son David Maher and grandsons David, Scott, and Jonathon Maher. Stepdaughter Patricia Rivera and son-in-law Victor Rivera, grandchildren Victor and Nicholas Rivera. Stepson Carmine Testa, grandchildren Chloe and Thomas Testa. Stepdaughter Melissa Testa, grandchildren Robert and Nicole Kurdek, great-grandson Robert Kurdek. Funeral Services will be held on July 25th, 2017 at Saint Mary's of the Pines in Manahawkin. Viewing from 10:30-11:30 followed by services at 11:30. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude Research Hospital. 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, Tennessee 38105. He will always be remembered for his kind and generous spirit, and his optimism will never be forgotten.
