Edna Carlene Woolard

Carlene was born and raised in Kentucky to her late parents, Elmer and Clara Riddle, the family then moved to Indiana where she graduated high school. It was there that she met her future husband, Wendel. Carlene and Wendel raised their two children in Indiana, prior to moving to Pennsylvania in 1968. In 2001, she moved to Manahawkin, NJ to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.

Carlene was predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years, Wendel, her son Duane, brother Marvin and sister Deanna.

She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Francis Kennard, her cherished grandchildren; Shanna James, Daniel James and Amber Luidens as well as her precious great-grandchildren, Issiah Gaines and Avery Luidens. She is also survived by her caring siblings; James Riddle, Mareta Dye, Denny Riddle and Norma Wilson and her many nieces and nephews.

She was an avid Phillies fan, and she enjoyed sewing and gardening. She was an active member of her church, Manahawkin United Methodist Church. Above all else, Carlene loved the times she spent with her family, especially the times she was with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 10:00am on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at the Manahawkin United Methodist Church, 116 Stafford Ave., Manahawkin, NJ.
