Elizabeth J DeGange

She was born February 12, 1939 in Paterson, NJ, and was raised in Fair Lawn, NJ, graduating from Fair Lawn High School.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Barbara Mazzella and Maggi St. Germain.

Elizabeth is survived by her devoted and loving children, Pamela Mills and her husband Mike, Samantha Doyle and her husband Stephen, Christopher DeGange and his wife Laurie, Jeffrey DeGange and William DeGange and his wife Ewa, her cherished grandchildren; Jason and Dustin Mills, Samantha Gogel, Kelsey, Liam, Corey, and Fiona Doyle, Otto DeGange, Katie and Michael Messina, Gina Spinella, Angel Rosen, Christana DeGange, and Martin Brown. She is also survived by her 7 precious great-grandchildren as well as her many loving nieces and nephews.

She retired from Mitchell Supreme Oil Company in Orange, NJ, where she worked for many years as a secretary.

Elizabeth was a fierce liberal, and had over 1600 Twitter followers.

She loved Halloween and made her own costumes which won her and her children many awards. Without using patterns, she could sew anything, including three piece suits and sofa covers. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Elizabeth was an avid reader, an excellent writer of poetry and short stories, she was also a talented sketch artist. She loved her Dewars and her IPad.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 12:00pm-3:00pm at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Elizabeth’s name may be sent to either Planned Parenthood or CHOP.
