After serving in the U.S. Army, Doug graduated from SUNY Farmingdale and ran his own landscaping business for 30 years. Doug was an avid boater and, for many years, he enjoyed spending time on Barnegat Bay out in front of the home he built in Harvey Cedars on Long Beach Island. He was an avid tennis player and golfer and he earlier served as Commodore of the Barnegat Light Yacht Club. He was active in the Beach Haven Yacht club in his later years.
He and Judy moved to Little Egg Harbor a decade ago, where they have enjoyed a wide social circle around activities including golf, bocci and billiards.
He is survived and will be missed by Judy, his three children, eight grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren..
Doug and Judy were active members of Zion Lutheran Church in Barnegat Light. Dad often sang on Easter sunrise services.
A memorial service will be held there on January 4, 2025 at 11:00 with a luncheon to follow.
