Jean Hart Martin

AGE: 67 • Little Egg Harbor

Jean Hart Martin, 67, formerly of Chester County, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011. Raised in Beach Haven, she was the daughter of the late Gurney F. and Gertrude Hart. She was a graduate of Southern Regional High School, NJ and Cedar Crest College, Allentown, Pa. Jean was a Benefits Manager at Chemical Leaman in Exton and later Berks Technical Institute in Reading, Pa. She was an active member of Grove United Methodist Church in West Chester, having co-chaired the Social Concerns Committee with her husband and was a member of the Board of Trustees. After retiring and moving to Little Egg Harbor, Jean was an active volunteer at the Tuckerton Seaport and enjoyed spending time at the beach and traveling, especially camping.

She shared her life with her husband of 46 years, Wayne R. Martin. Also surviving to cherish her memories are her children, Barbara M. Kelly and her husband Kevin of Little Egg Harbor, and Brian D. Martin and his wife Jennifer of Tuckerton; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Matthew Martin; and many cherished family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life at a memorial service at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 30 at the Tuckerton Seaport, Tuckerton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure , in honor of Jean's 3-year breast cancer survival.
