He is survived by his sister, Marie Cleary, of NJ and many nieces and nephews.
John worked for the United States Post Office from where he retired.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 2:00pm-6:00pm at the Thos. L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Pine Church, 100 Bishop Way, Manahawkin on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 11:00am. Burial will follow at the Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, Mass cards will be accepted.
