

Born in Manahawkin, he was a lifelong resident, and impacted the community with his infectious smile and unwavering devotion to those he knew and loved. The "life of the party," John was able to simultaneously put a smile on your face and lend a shoulder to cry on. John was a hard worker and was dedicated to his work, family, and friends.
A student at Rowan University, he consistently made the Dean's list, with a Major in Psychology and Minor in Human Resources.
John was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, MaryAnn and Salvatore Vargin.
Surviving are his parents, Dina DeLuca and Kenneth Moretz; his sisters: Antonia DeLuca and Alayna Moretz Wallace and her husband James; his Uncle and Aunt, James and Megan Vargin, and Michael and Sharon Vargin; his cousins: Joseph and Jessica Vargin; and many other loving extended family members and friends.
A memorial Mass will be held at St. Francis RC Church in Long Beach Island on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 11AM. A celebration of life will immediately follow. For more details, or to post a tribute online, please visit www.shinnfuneralhome.com.
