Karon was predeceased by her father Walter Robinson, her mother Helen Robinson Massa and her stepfather John Massa.
She is survived by her daughter, Stacey Lucariello, her cherished grandchildren; Caroline, Rachel and John Lucariello and her beloved companion, her dog Georgie.
Karon was a devoted mother to her daughter as she was growing up. She was as an active member of the PTA and spent months creating award winning Halloween costumes. She was also a partner in Helen’s Antiques, with her mother and stepfather, buying, refinishing and selling treasures and furniture. She and her late ex-husband, John Pharo, owned an ice cream parlor, The Porch, for several years and remained close friends throughout their lives. Karon later worked at Okies Butcher Shop on Long Beach Island before retiring four years ago.
She was an accomplished artist; though she didn’t meet her, Betty White purchased one of her paintings. Karon enjoyed decorating and tackling home projects. She grew up spending her summers on Long Beach Island where she would spend her time at the beach, boating and fishing with her Dad and enjoying teenage shenanigans with her oldest and dearest friend, Lynn Natale.
She adored her family and the times they spent together. Having three grandchildren who love the shore as much as she did is a legacy she passes on. The memories they made will live in their hearts forever.
A memorial service will be held at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 4:00p.m.-7:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society or an Animal Rescue Shelter of your choice would be appreciated.
