Marianne Reday passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026 in Manahawkin, NJ, at the age of 85. Born in Wheeling, West Virginia on February 27, 1941, Marianne later moved with her family to Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, where she grew up and attended high school.
She later met and married David Reday, and together they settled in Levittown, Pennsylvania, where they raised their two daughters, Lisa and Pamela. Together they owned and operated an antiques and auction business where Marianne's love of collecting and curating rare finds helped the business flourish.
Marianne later built a successful career in the hospitality industry. Beginning in an entry-level position, she quickly rose into management and went on to serve as director of catering restaurants, banquet facilities and country clubs throughout her career. She was admired for her confidence, poise and natural ability to connect with people.
Marianne was a beautiful, independent woman with a creative spirit and a lifelong love of music, art, travel and learning. She loved a good party and expressed herself through her unique personal style and the life she created around her.
Later in life, Marianne fulfilled her dream of living by the ocean and settled in Long Beach Island and then Manahawkin, New Jersey. She cherished the friendships she made there and was active in the local community. She volunteered at the Surflight Theatre and was a member of the Spray Beach Chapel. During this chapter of her life, she also discovered a love for painting and drawing. She created beautiful watercolor landscapes and acrylic paintings inspired by nature.
Above all, Marianne treasured her family most. The moments she shared with them brought her so much joy, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Martha Polen, her sister, Sue Miller and her brother, Richard (Dick) Polen.
