“Mare” is forever reunited with her beloved husband Donald, who predeceased her in January 2023. She is survived by her family, which consists of many loving cousins and a group of amazing friends.
Mare was the most kind-hearted, generous, loving person you could ever meet. No one was a stranger to her but always a friend. She and Don loved to travel, especially to their 2nd home in Mexico. She was a fashionista, she loved shopping, which she called her therapy. Mare was a very creative person, she would make keepsake blankets for her family and friends from scraps of fabric, and she also made bracelets for everyone she knew, using different types of stones and crystals. She was an excellent cook, she enjoyed making meals for Don and her family.
She was a very special person and will be missed by all who knew her. Her smile and bubbly personality would light up any room she entered.
A visitation will be held at Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ on Monday, August 21, 2023 from 4:00pm-8:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Maryellen’s name may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
