

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Marie Ann Peters.
Richard is survived by his devoted children; his daughter Jackie Schrader and her husband Mark and his son Jeffrey Peters as well as his cherished grandchildren; Jack & Cole Schrader and Brody Peters. He is also survived by his loving sister, Judi Huff and her husband Kenny, sister and brother in law Andy and Terry Byrne, his nieces and nephews and his many friends.
Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired after 26 years of service as a Sargent on the Dumont Police Force. He was also a Carpenter and Craftsman owning his company, Rick Peters General Contracting.
In his free time he enjoyed doing woodworking, boating, fishing and hunting. Above all else, the time spent with his family was very special to him. He will be greatly missed by all.
A visitation will be held Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 10:00am-12:00pm at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, N.J. Committal service will follow at 1:30pm at Brig. General William C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd. Wrightstown, N.J.
