Victor German Ruiz

A physician for over 4 decades, German was a well-respected and beloved Oncologist and Internist at Southern Ocean County Hospital (SOCH) and Stafford Medical, P.A.German served as the medical director of SOCH, founder of the Oncology Department at SOCH and co-founder of Stafford Medical, P.A.

German was born in Colombia, to the late Carlos and Oliva Ruiz. He graduated in 1965 from medical school at the University of the Valley in Cali, Colombia. German completed his internship at Mt. Sinai (Chicago), residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital (New York) and his Oncology Fellowship at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston. Upon completion of his medical training, he relocated to Manahawkin, NJ in 1974 where he fell in love with the area and made a commitment to care for the community.

Left to cherish his memories is his dear wife, Maria Pilar Ruiz; his children David and Daniel Ruiz; and his three surviving sisters Norha Siertsema, Luz Maria Lopez and Syldania Victoria. He took great joy in spending time and traveling with his wife and children. On his time off, he enjoyed skiing, scuba diving and watching professional soccer. German had a genuine care for everyone, leading to a great respect from his family, friends, patients, and medical community.
