

Wilma M. Savognani, 72, of Manahawkin, passed away at home on Wednesday, August 5th, 2015. She was born in Paterson and resided there before moving to Manahawkin in 2002. She graduated from William Paterson College and was a beloved english teacher in the Paterson school system before changing careers.
Wilma was a valued member of the Fawn Lakes community, serving as editor of the monthly newspaper, treasurer to the community association, and secretary and treasurer to Condo 3 . She will truly be missed by her neighbors and friends.
Wilma was predeceased by her parents John & Catherine Savognani. She leaves behind in sadness her sisters, Bessie French and her husband Robert, and Joanne Gentilella and her husband Anthony. Also surviving are her nieces and nephew, MaryAnn, Tammy, Michelle, Stacy and Christopher and great nieces & nephews, Lucy, Elaina, Katherine, Olivia, William & Wes.
In her later years, Wilma was Pierce Brosnan's biggest fan and actually got to meet him at a function in New York City where he graciously spoke with her and posed for a picture, this was a highlight in her life.
Wilma marched to the beat of her own drum and had a kind and overly generous heart.
There will be no visitation. The family will hold a private memorial at a later date. If desired, memorial donations in Wilma's name can be made to the local animal shelter, Popcorn Zoo or a charity of your choice.
