

Born in Bridgeport, CT., Barbara lived in East Orange, NJ before moving to Holmdel in 1968.
She was a graduate of Barnard College, NYC with a Bachelor of Arts; she also received a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Yale University and a Master of Arts in Industrial Relations from Rutgers University.
She was a Claims Representative for the Social Security Administration for 20 years. She became a Latin teacher at the following Schools: Hanover Park Regional HS, Manalapan HS, Holmdel HS and St. John Vianney HS of Holmdel. She was also a Hebrew school teacher at Congregation B’nai Israel of Rumson, NJ.
She was a member of Temple Beth Ahm and its Sisterhood of Aberdeen, NJ, member and Past President of the Barnard Club of Central New Jersey, member and Past President of Bnai Brith Ketubah Unit, member and Past President of Monmouth County Association for Children with Learning Disabilities.
Barbara did volunteer work for NJ Judiciary System (Monmouth County) Panel for Children Foster Care Placement.
She was pre-deceased by her parents: Harry (1971) and Louise Solomon(1999), also her brother: Gerald Solomon in 2010.
She is survived by her beloved husband: Edward, her devoted daughters: Jessica and her husband Stuart Fox of Edison, NJ, Alison Pasternak of Washington, DC and Jean Pasternak of NYC.
Services will be at “BLOOMFIELD-COOPER JEWISH CHAPELS” 44 Wilson Avenue (Route #527 North) Manalapan, NJ on Monday at 11:00 a.m.
