WOW!  It doesn't seem possible it has been a year since you left, Doris.  The "Doris" photo album is in my room and looking at it makes me smile.  So many memories of leaning, learning, loving and laughing.  You gave me 3 spoons I thought were lovely and I use them daily and think of you each time.  Thank you for being the person so filled with joy who offered that to everyone.  I am greatly privileged to be your friend and I send my love to your family. Alta

We were so sad to hear about Doris' passing.  She will be missed
by all who knew her, especially her daughters, their families
and her brother.  
Doris and I go back to Lincoln High School and whenever our
paths crossed it was always special.

I met Doris in 1969 in Illinois. She was my neighbor and a supportive, fun friend for the last 50 years.

She was a Joyful Superwoman...who never slowed down...

Doris was:
-a loving, nurturing Mother
-an adoring and involved Grandmother
-a devoted Sister
-a treasured Member of Her Extended Family
-an active Participant in Her Community
-a passionate Educator
-a dedicated Worker
-a faithful and kind Friend
-a committed Supporter of Relay for Life
-a walking, talking Bundle of Compassion
and so much more.

She gathered many beneath her wings and took part in their lives in ways that enriched and blessed them.  She was fun, always going and doing...and supportive.   She nourished the bodies and souls of so many and she will be greatly missed.

My thoughts are with you, Robin, Abigail, Lainie, and your families.

Words can’t express what Doris meant to to me personally and to us as a family. First, my mom and her had a relationship that was so rare. A Jewish woman from NYC and a strict Roman Catholic from Jersey who met with a common passion: teaching. They were there for each other through some really tough times. Then there was the love that Doris showed to me, my Jewish wife (which she was thrilled with by the way) and my brother after my mom passed suddenly. Then, without a thought,  this “bee” looked over my kids as her own grandchildren .  Never forgetting a birthday, writing recommendation letters for college and hosting our annual holiday gathering for the past 18 years.  And for what....because she loved my mom.  Just a special person who didn’t care who needed help or guidance, she just provided it. We will miss you “Aunt Doris” and I hope you and my mom are living it up right now without any worries or cares. With so much love and appreciation.... The Ferraros 

Dear Lanie and Family,

Our deepest condolences on the loss of your sweet mother Doris. From the day we met her at the bus stop in front of our house a few years back, she always wore her friendly smile and greeted us with her easy-going spirit. She was a bright light and a beautiful soul to be around. We will miss her but she is an angel now watching over you and yours forever. We love you and may God bless you all.
