Born in Jersey City, NJ, in 1938, to Isidore and Rebecca (Betty) Feinstein, he grew up in Guttenberg and Irvington, and earned a bachelor’s and MBA degree from Rutgers University.
A proud veteran, Raymond honorably served his country in both the Marine Corps and the Army, and remained a passionate student of military history for the rest of his life.
After holding various financial positions at the IRS, Tappan (where he met his wife, Adela), Best & Co., and Dean Witter, Raymond spent most of his professional career as a self-employed accountant, faithfully serving hundreds of clients and businesses over the decades.
An avid animal lover throughout his lifetime, a trait passed on to his children and grandchildren, Raymond generously gave to multiple charities, and adored the cats and dogs the family had over the years. And as a passionate fan of New York sports teams, he also enjoyed the ups and downs that came with rooting on the Yankees, Giants, Rangers, and Knicks.
Above all, Raymond was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and all will greatly miss his wisdom, warmth, and unique sense of humor. He shared 61 years of marriage with his beloved wife Adela, with whom he built a wonderful life, partnership, and family, full of extraordinary memories and a lot of laughter.
Raymond is predeceased by his parents and by his brother, Philip Feinstein.
Surviving Raymond are his wife, Adela; his children, Gabrielle Gromann-Buck and Jason Feinstein; his grandchildren, Max Gromann and Samuel Buck; his brother Lloyd Feinstein and sister-in-law Joan Feinstein; and sister-in-law Alice Feinstein.
The family wishes to extend their deep gratitude to the management and staff of Peaceful Pines Residence, in Matawan, for the compassionate care provided to Raymond in his final months.
