

He was the son of Benjamin and Sharon Bernstein, and was born on February 5, 1969 in Newark, NJ. Richard spent his childhood living in Clark, New Jersey. As an adult, he lived in Boynton Beach, West Palm, and Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Richard was a hard worker and devoted himself tirelessly to his job as a funeral director and location manager, working at I.J. Morris at Star of David Cemetery of the Palm Beaches, a Dignity Memorial funeral home in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida for over 22 years. Through his work as a funeral director, he made a large impact in the lives of many and enjoyed doing so immensely. He has left a profound impact on the community he served and his company.
Richard truly loved his family more than anything and always enjoyed celebrating the holidays together.
Richard was predeceased by his father Benjamin Bernstein and is survived by his two loving sons Jayden and Joshua Bernstein, his mother Sharon Bernstein, his sister and brother-in-law Dana Bernstein and Steven Hornstein, and their two children Ella and Landen Hornstein. Richard will be dearly missed.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 11:00 am at Bloomfield- Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Avenue, Manalapan, NJ. Burial will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery, 1098 Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge, NJ at 12:30 pm.
Shiva will follow the burial on Sunday, Monday, November 17th from 1-5pm and 7-10pm, and on Tuesday, November 18th, from 1-4pm.
A Florida Celebration of Richard's Life will take place at 3:00pm on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at I.J. Morris at Star of David Cemetery of the Palm Beaches, 9321 Memorial Park Road, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33412.
