Born in Brooklyn, New York, Robert — known affectionately as “Bob” to many — lived in Brooklyn and Old Bridge, New Jersey, before retiring to Lake Worth, Florida. A devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, friend, doctor, and community leader. Bob lived a life of service, compassion, and pride in family.
Bob was a dedicated Podiatrist who ran successful private practices in both Brooklyn, NY and Old Bridge, NJ. He was also deeply involved in his professional and local communities, serving as President of the Brooklyn Podiatry Association, Boardman and Secretary of New Jersey Podiatry Society, and President the Old Bridge School Board and Old Bridge Public Library. He was President of his court at The Fountains, a role he held with diligence. His community leadership also extended as President of Congregation Beth Ohr, where he remained an active member and proud supporter throughout his life.
Beyond his professional achievements, Bob was an avid golfer, boasting two holes-in-one — accomplishments he talked about often with his signature smile. He adored his family and especially cherished time spent with his grandchildren. His beloved four-legged favorite child, Kelly, brought him constant joy and comfort.
In Bob’s own words:
“My greatest achievements still are and will always be my 3 great children (and their spouses) and 7 wonderful grandchildren.”
Bob is survived by his loving children: Patti Zakow (Peter), Robyn Wolfe, and Eric Lipp (Sharon); his brothers Andrew Rothenberg and Larry Rothenberg; his great uncle Victor Beecher (Ronnie), many nieces and nephews and his pride and joy his adoring grandchildren: Austin, Evan, Samantha, Dylan, Griffin, Danielle, and Hannah.
We would like to thank his aides Amalia, Georgette and Carla and all of his physical and occupational therapist for taking such good care of him.
He was predeceased by his beloved first wife Barbara Lipp, his second wife Diane Lipp, his brothers Donald and Steven Lipp, and his son-in-law Robert Wolfe.
