Yuriy Chaus, age 62, of Marlboro, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025. He was born on August 17, 1963, in Kyiv, Ukraine, where his bright spirit and generous heart first took shape.
In 1985, Yuriy married his devoted partner, Raisa, and together they built a beautiful life. The young couple courageously emigrated to the United States with their young children, determined to build a better life. They arrived with no money, no certainty, and only Raisa’s brother and sister-in-law to lean on. Through hard work, perseverance, and an unwavering belief in the future, Yuriy and Raisa proudly purchased a home in New Jersey less than 6 years later. Along with realizing the American dream, the couple also fulfilled what many regard as the Jewish dream, with both of their children becoming attorneys.
To his family, Yuriy was the heart of every gathering and the source of endless joy. His grandchildren adored him, and he embraced the name “Grandpa” with pride and enthusiasm. His laughter filled every room, and his kindness touched all who knew him.
Yuriy lived each day with purpose, gratitude, and warmth. He had an extraordinary ability to find reasons to smile, to encourage others, and to celebrate life’s simple blessings. His legacy of love, resilience, and generosity will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known him.
Yuriy is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Raisa Chaus; his son Konstantin Chaus, his wife Aziza, and their children Yasmina, Marcus, and Leon; and his daughter Yelena Tsyrlin, her husband Simon, and their children Max, Benjamin, and Eva.
A funeral service will be held on November 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Mount Sinai Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 374 State Route 79, Morganville, New Jersey, followed by a committal service at 11:00 AM at the same location.
A repast will follow at Edelweiss Restaurant, 455 Route 9, Englishtown, New Jersey 07726.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Yuriy’s memory may be made to any charity supporting Ukraine, a cause that always remained close to his heart.
