

Betty B. Brooks, 81, of Manchester, died November 22, 2014 at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was born in Manchester on June 24, 1933 the daughter of George and Angeline (Lievens) Perkins and was a lifelong resident of the Queen City. She was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Manchester Central High School.
She was employed as a department head at Granite State Marketing and Research Co. with more than 30 years of service. Betty was the consummate homemaker and loved caring for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed the time she spent playing cards and bingo with her many friends and will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years Richard E. Brooks in 2009 and by her brother Mitchell Warchol.
Members of her family include her four sons Richard French and his wife Maureen Cote, James Brooks and his fiancée Shirley Gagnon, David Brooks and his wife Darlene and Paul Brooks, her five daughters Debra Hale and her husband Cary, Cheryl Quintal and her husband Richard, Barbara Barna and her husband John, Jo Faucher and her husband Barry and Donna Boucher and her husband Don, her 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, her two sisters Donna Houle and Michelle Lalos as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday November 28 from 3 to 5PM at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester followed by a Memorial Service in the funeral home. Urn burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Betty’s name may be made to the Hillsborough County Nursing Home Special Needs Unit A-1 Activities Dept. 400 Mast Rd. Goffstown, NH 03045.
