

Daniel “Ski” Lencki, 64, passed away January 24, 2014 at the Massachusetts General Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Manchester on March 18, 1949, the son of John and Sophie (Lewandowski) Lencki.
A lifelong resident of Manchester he was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of West High School, class of 1967. Daniel was employed as a timekeeper by the Manchester Highway Department for 26 years prior to his retirement in 2010.
Ski, as he was known to his friends loved golfing, trips to Hampton Beach and was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees. He was a member of the League of 1000 Men of the Precious Blood and in his youth had served as an altar boy at the Precious Blood Monastery.
Above all else, Daniel was dedicated to his wife and family. He was a wonderful grandfather to Ryan and Carissa and delighted in playing games and spending time with them.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Barbara (Binette) Lencki of Manchester; a daughter, Jennifer Callan and her husband Joseph of Florida; two grandchildren Ryan Callan and Carissa Callan, also of Florida; three sisters, Virginia Vallee and Jo-Ann Therrien, both of Manchester and Arlene Johnson of Hillsborough, NH; three brothers, Michael Lencki, Frank Lencki and Joseph Lencki, all of Manchester; several nieces and nephews. He was pre deceased by a brother Stanley Lencki.
Daniel adored his pets, Spunky the cat and Sam the beagle.
Following cremation a memorial gathering was held on Thursday, January 30th from 5 to 8 PM in the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St., corner of Beech St. In lieu of flowers, donations in Daniel’s name may be made to the Precious Blood Monastery, 700 Bridge St., Manchester NH 03104.
