Born on a farm in Fairhaven, Minnesota on October 11, 1941, he was the son of the late George and Frieda (Bartell) Truenow.
Early in life, Don joined and actively served in the United States Army, where he trained at the US Army Management School and served with the Defense Intelligence Agency. He spent most of his career in the graphic arts industry and was a Manager for the W.R. Grace/Polyfibron Offset Printing, blanket division. Don took great pride in his role and specialized in product development, manufacturing and field-testing, which allowed him to serve a wide variety of customers. His customer base ranged from the United States, Canada, South America and Puerto Rico. His passions in life were fishing, hunting, woodworking, and spending time with his family. Don was also a spiritual man and an active member of the Lutheran church.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Jenny (Burton) Truenow; two sons, Matthew Truenow and Brian and his wife, Pam Truenow; two grandchildren, Olivia and Shane Truenow; in-laws, Robert and Pat Burton; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by two brothers;Harold and Gerhardt Truenow and one sister; Evelyn (Truenow) Stevens.

A funeral service will occur Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 12:30 PM, 283 Hanover St, Manchester, New Hampshire 03104. A burial will occur Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 2:00 PM at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH.
