

George P. Demos, 60, of Manchester passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2014 after a sudden illness. He was born in Manchester on March 31, 1953, the son of Peter and Catherine (Theodore) Demos and had been a lifelong resident of the Queen City.
A graduate of Memorial High School, class of 1971, George was a devoted member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral. There, he became the “right hand” to the priests. He was an altar server/ co-coordinator for all the services. He will be greatly missed by the church community.
In addition to volunteering countless hours to Glendi, a favorite pastime for George was listening to Greek music.
George is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and George Croteau of Manchester; two nephews, Matthew Peter Croteau and Andrew Theodore Croteau, both of Manchester and several cousins.
Calling hours were Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm in the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St., corner of Beech St. The Trisaigon service was held at 6 PM. A funeral ceremony was held at 10 AM Thursday in St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 650 Hanover St. Burial followed in Pine Grove Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in George’s name to St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
