

Gordon A. Robertson, 76, of Manchester died on Saturday January 11, 2014, while surrounded by his family, at CMC Hospital. He was born on December 11, 1937 in Worcester, MA the son of Percival and Florence (Tatman) Robertson.
Raised in Worcester, MA, he graduated from Commerce High School in 1956. He served his country in the US Army from 1959 to 1962. Gordon married his high school sweetheart, Gail Joanne Watts, on June 6, 1959, in Worcester. He resided in Leicester, MA where he was Distribution Manager for the Worcester Telegraph and Gazette from 1963-1969. Later he owned and operated Robertson’s Grocery and Luncheonette from 1969-1976. He was ordained to the ministry in 1980 and served as Senior Pastor of Manchester Baptist Church until his retirement in 2001. He was the founder and director of the Harvest Food Pantry on 40 Ronald Street until his death.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Gail; his son Rev. Ken Robertson and wife Kim of Hooksett, his son Paul Robertson and wife Neiva of Gardner, MA, his daughter Karen Ingle and husband Stephen of Douglasville, GA, his son Rev. Jim Robertson and wife Michelle of Pembroke, NH and his son Dennis Robertson and wife Miranda of Manchester. He enjoyed his 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Donald Robertson and wife Betty Lou of Tulsa, OK, his sister Judith Robertson of Rutland, MA and his brother Robert Robertson and wife Donna of Leicester, MA and several nephews and nieces.
Calling hours were Wednesday January 15th from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm in the Harvest Baptist Church, 361 Hackett Hill Rd., Hooksett. The funeral service was Thursday, January 16th at 11 AM in the Harvest Baptist Church. Burial followed in the NH Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gordon’s memory to the Harvest Baptist Church.
