James G. Bliss

He was born in Helena, Montana on October 11, 1948 the son of Inga (Blockus) Bliss and raised in Gildford MT. He was a graduate of Gildford High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served a tour of duty in Vietnam and was later stationed at The Army Recruiting Station in Manchester.

James met his future wife Elaine Guimond while stationed in Manchester. They were wed and shared 43 years of marriage.

He was employed by the US Postal Service and was active with various Veterans organizations. He enjoyed traveling with his wife. He cherished his family and was very involved with his grandchildren and their sporting events.

Family members include his wife Elaine Bliss of Bow; a daughter, Sheli Bliss of Manchester; a son Kenneth Bliss of Bow; a granddaughter Saara Bliss of Bow; a grandson Andrew Bliss of Bow; and a sister Susan Bliss of Ogden Utah. He was pre deceased by a brother Jerry Bliss.

We would like to thank the staff at Concord, NH Hospice and the doctors and nurses as the Veterans Administration Medical Center for the care he received.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 10 AM to Noon in St. Pius X Church, 575 Candia Rd., Manchester, immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will be at 2PM in the NH Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Manchester Vet Center, 1461 Hooksett Rd.
