Jose F. Alicea

Jose F. Alicea 67 of Manchester NH passed away Friday February 27 2015 at Catholic Medical Center. Jose was born in Lares, Puerto Rico on February 18 1948 the son of Eladio Alicea and Felicita Romero.

Jose was raised in Puerto Rico where he started a family of his own. Jose and his family moved to Atlantic City in 1973 for a short period of time and then relocated to Manchester NH in 1978. Jose retired from WoodMont Orchards in Londonderry where he worked for many years.

Jose was a gifted and loved man. Jose enjoyed singing, fishing, gardening, and whittling. Jose mostly cherished his time with his family, raising them and watching them grow.

Jose is survived by his wife of 47 years, Benita A. Soto of Manchester; four daughters, Maria Rosa of Goffstown, Yancy Alicea, Jennifer Alicea, and Tania Alicea all of Manchester; his son Jose F. Alicea Jr. of Deerfield; 11 grandchildren Joshua, Destiny, Christopher, Nathaniel, Tatiana, Andrew, Matthew, Jonathan, Javier, Jocelyn, and Nina; 1 great grandchild Aiden; 3 brothers, Jose E. Alicea, Gilberto Alicea, Carlos A. Alicea, all of Puerto Rico and many nieces and nephews. Jose was pre deceased by 2 brothers Migual A. Alicea, and William Alicea.

Calling hours were Tuesday, March 3, 2015 from 4 to 8 pm in the McHugh Funeral home, 283 Hanover Street, corner of Beech Street. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, March 4th, 2015 at 10 am in St. Anne/ St. Augustin Church, 382 Beech Street Manchester. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
