

Josephine “Bach” Platek, 93, of Manchester, died June 1, 2014 at her residence after a brief illness. She was born in Manchester on December 5, 1920 the daughter of Frank & Tekla (Politowicz) Felong. She was a lifelong resident of the Queen City and was educated in the local school system.
She was employed by the Manchester School Department as the “Lunch Lady” at Hallsville School for over 15 years. She also worked for Velcro USA.
“Bach” enjoyed gathering with her family and friends and loved trying her luck at bingo and the casinos. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was predeceased by her husband Walter Platek in 1980 and by her brothers Stanley Felong, John Felong, Michael Felong and Walter Felong.
Members of her family include her two daughters Helen Lacroix and her husband William of Loudon and Cecille Platek of Massachusetts, her grandson Travis Matson and his wife Jennifer and her great-grandsons Dylan Matson and Trevor Matson all of Connecticut as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private Memorial Service will be celebrated at a later date. The family requests that memorial donations in Josephine’s name be made to the NH Association for the Blind 25 Walker St. Concord, NH 03301.
