

Marie R. Plante, 96, of Manchester, died March 4, 2014 at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was born in Manchester on April 22, 1917, the daughter of Amedee and Sophie (Boucher) Huard and was a lifelong resident of the Queen City. She was educated in the local school system.
She was employed at MKF Manufacturing and was a member of St. Anne Sodality of St. Anthony Church, the 55 Club and was a former member of St. Pius X Church. Her true joy was caring for her family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Marie’s zest for life and jovial personality was infectious. She brought out the best in others. Her often spoken saying “Tra la la…” brought a smile to all.
Marie was predeceased by her first husband Maurice Lapointe in 1965, by her second husband Donat Plante in 1981 and by her brother Maurice Huard and her sisters Yvonne Daudier and Antoinette Huard.
Members of her family include her son Joseph Roland Lapointe of Concord, her daughter Diane Desmarais and her husband Roger of Manchester, her four grandchildren Nicole Lee and her husband Christopher of Merrimack, Kristen Desmarais of Peabody, MA, Monique Lapointe of Franklin and Michelle Bernier and her husband Kyle of Penacook, her two great grandchildren Owen Bernier and Quinlan Bernier also of Penacook as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday March 7 from 5 to 8PM at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday March 8 at 10AM at the Parish of the Transfiguration 107 Alsace St. Manchester, NH. Committal followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marie’s name to the Hillsborough County Nursing Home Activities Fund 400 Mast Rd. Goffstown, NH 03045.
