
Mary E. Keegan 93, of Manchester, died on November 3, 2011 at St. Theresa Healthcare Center after a long illness. She was born on April 20, 1918 in County Caven , Ireland, the daughter of John and Mary Keegan. She was a resident of Concord, NH for 47 years and was educated in the Capital City School System before relocating to Manchester in 1969.
Mary was employed as a secretary for the State of New Hampshire for several years and was also an employee of Catholic Medical Center prior to her retirement.
She was a former member of St. Joseph Cathedral in Manchester and was also a member of the Legion of Mary of that parish. She was a member of the Senior Volunteer Program.
Members of her family include her brother Francis Keegan of New York as well as several cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Sr. Lucina Keegan in 1972 and by two special aunts Elizabeth Kennedy and Katherine Green.
An hour of visitation was held on Tuesday November 8, 2011 from 9 to 10AM at St. Theresa Healthcare Center 519 Bridge St. in Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial followed in the nursing home chapel. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Concord. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary’s name to NH Catholic Charities 325 Franklin St. Manchester, NH 03101 or to the Sisters of Mercy 37 Searles Rd. Windham, NH 03087. The McHugh Funeral Home in Manchester is assisting with the arrangements.
