

Ralph D. Bond, 87, of Manchester passed away February 25, 2015 at the Villa Crest Nursing Center. He was born in Defiance, Ohio on October 17, 1927, the son of the late Elmer O. and Marie D. (Flentje) Bond.
He was raised in Defiance and enlisted in the Army and while stationed in Trieste, Italy he met Maria Talucci and they were wed on December 18, 1948. At the conclusion of his service, they moved to Ohio where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Defiance College. They moved to New Jersey in 1954, where they raised their family. Ralph taught commercial courses at Newton (NJ) High School and was later employed by the Federal Government as a technical manual writer until his retirement in 1989.
He and Maria moved to New Hampshire following his retirement and they resided in Nashua, Hudson and Londonderry. Ralph was a member of the Merrimack Valley Baptist Church in Merrimack where he pursued Bible study. He enjoyed painting and drawing and was known as a history buff.
His beloved wife Maria passed away on August 11, 2013. In addition to his parents, Ralph was pre deceased by his brothers, John Bond, Paul Bond and Frederick Bond; sisters Virginia Bond, Nancy Jackson and Wilma Woodring.
Family members include a daughter, Jane Elliott and her husband Curtis Elliott of Moultonborough, NH; a son, Mark Bond and his wife Denise Bond of Washington, NJ; grandchildren Emily Elliott of Redwood City CA, Krista Schroeder of New York City, NY and Sean Bond of Washington, NJ; a brother Robert Bond and a sister Anna Bordner.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 9th at 11 AM in the Chapel of the NH Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH. Rev. Joel Gibbs will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ralph’s name may be made to the NH Veterans Cemetery.
