Rita E. Huard Duval

Rita E. Duval, 91, of Manchester, died November 22, 2013 at the Villa Crest Nursing & Retirement Center after a brief illness. She was born in Manchester on June 12, 1922, the daughter of Louis and Victorine (Tourigny) Huard and was one of eighteen children. She was a lifelong resident of the Queen City, was educated in the local school system and attended Houle’s Beauty Academy.

Rita owned and operated the Beauty Nook in Manchester for many years. She was a member of the NH Association of Cosmetology and the Manchester Women’s Club.

She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Members of her family include her son Richard Duval and his wife Mary of Manchester, her two grandsons Gregory Duval and his wife Stacy of Andover, MA and Matthew Duval and his wife Dina of Dover and her three great-grandchildren Molly, Jacob and Sarah Duval as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday November 29 at 10AM in St. Raphael Church 103 Walker St. in Manchester. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made in Rita’s name to the Sisters of the Precious Blood 700 Bridge St. Manchester, NH 03104. The McHugh Funeral Home has been entrusted with her care.
