

Roderic C. Caron, Sr. 79, a resident of the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton died February 23, 2010 at his residence after a long illness. He was born in Manchester on May 15, 1930, the son of Romeo and Mary Elizabeth (Mulligan) Caron and resided in Manchester most of his life.
He was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Central High School and attended New Hampshire College. Prior to his retirement he had been employed for many years as a service advisor at Banks Chevrolet in Concord. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
His wife of 49 years, Marie Anne (Gionet) Caron died on December 6, 2006.
An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing and was known as an accomplished fly fisherman as well as an award-winning archer. Mr. Caron was also an accomplished and creative workman who was a master at the trades including auto mechanics, carpentry, plumbing, and electronics.
He is survived by a son, Roderic C. Caron, Jr. and his wife Lea of Bow, NH; a brother Robert L. Caron of Meredith; a sister Natalie Mahoney of Meredith as well as nieces and nephews.
A memorial reception was held on Monday, March 1st from 10 AM to Noon in the McHugh Funeral Home, 483 Beech St., corner of Hanover St. A memorial service followed at noon in the funeral home. Private urn encryptment was in the NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the NH Veterans Home, Resident Benefit Fund, 139 Winter St., Tilton, NH 03276.
