

Donald J. Harlow, 94 (known to most as Jack) passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, August 26, 2021. Born to Noah and Mary Harlow in Decatur, IL on Feb 5, 1927, Jack lived in Decatur for 34 years, until relocating to Neptune NJ in 1961. Jack was a proud veteran of the United States Navy who served our country honorably seeing combat duty in the Pacific Islands campaigns between 1944-1946. Jack also served in the US Army as well but always considered himself a Navy man. Upon returning from WWII he started working for the Department of Defense initially in Illinois until his transfer to New Jersey where he worked at Camp Evans and Fort Monmouth, where he and his wife Kathleen had both worked, until he retired in 1982. Other than his family, Jack’s primary passion in life was the game of golf. As an accomplished golfer, he was a former City Champion of Decatur and Club Champion at Fort Monmouth where he had also recorded 7 Holes- in- one during his membership.
Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Kathleen C. Harlow in February 2008 and his brothers; Rupert, Hugh Wallace and Robert. He is survived by his devoted children; daughter, Laura K. Chisholm and her husband Steve of Jackson, NJ, sons; Barton J. Harlow and his wife Dolores of Ocean Twp., NJ and Robert P. Harlow and his wife Cathy Ann of Ocean Twp., NJ, his adored grandchildren; Stephen Chisholm and his wife Connie, Mark Chisholm and his wife Annie, Justin Harlow and Jessica Harlow, Tyler Harlow and Brian Harlow and his great grandchildren; Autumn Chisholm, Holly Chisholm, Ricky Durst, Alexandra and Elizabeth Chisholm.
Arrangements were private and were handled by the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, Manchester, NJ. Jack will be laid to rest with his beloved Kathleen at the Brig. Gen. William C.
