Elizabeth “Betty” Jones, 74, of Manchester passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017 after a short illness. Born in Rahway, she grew up in Iselin before moving to Lebanon Township where she and her husband, Ken, raised their family for 40 years. She moved to Manchester in 2011.
Betty was a bookkeeper extraordinaire. She was an accomplished quilter and seamstress. She loved playing cards and board games with everyone. She also enjoyed traveling and with her husband visiting friends and family. Betty was a wonderful cook and an avid gardener. Betty volunteered for many organizations including her church, the Open Cupboard Food Pantry, the Hunterdon County Senior Center, the Bunnvale Library, the National Park Service at the Kingsley Plantation in Florida, the National Forest Service in Alaska and in the Leisure Ridge community. Betty was a woman of strong faith who adored her family, especially her cherished grandchildren. She recently celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary with her husband, Ken.
Betty is predeceased by her father, Michael Cwiekalo. Surviving are her beloved husband, Kenneth R. Jones; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rebecca Jones of Llano, TX, Jennifer and Dan English of Jasper, GA and Rachel Jones-Sybor and Jimmy Sybor of Lebanon; her mother, Elizabeth Cwiekalo; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Rudy Rolef, sister, Linda Cwiekalo, brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Susan Cwiekalo; and four grandchildren, Jacob, Jack and Annalise English and Courtney Sybor. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Rd., Manchester, NJ. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 1937 Church Rd., Toms River, NJ. Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown.
