Ella Bruzaitis

Ella Bruzaitis, 93, of Manchester, passed away on September 9, 2011. Born in Ansonia, CT, Ella also lived in McAdoo, PA, Brooklyn, NY, and Kearney, NJ before moving to Manchester in the 1940’s. Ella worked at Carter’s Liver Pills in NY and then for many years at Grants Department Store in Toms River and JC Penney’s in Ocean County Mall. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother. During the 50’s and 60’s she was very involved in the PTA, Cub Scouts, and East Ridgeway Civic Club. She was a parishioner at St. John’s RC Church in Lakehurst.

Ella was pre-deceased by her husband, Anthony, former Mayor of Manchester, who died in 1962, leaving Ella to raise her youngest son, Anthony, Jr., as a single mother. Ella’s older sons, Richard (deceased) and John, served on the Manchester Police Department. Ella also leaves behind three beloved grandchildren, Eric, Jason and Ashley Bruzaitis, daughters-in-law Lee and Lynn Bruzaitis, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 11, from 2-5 pm, at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Rd., Manchester, NJ 08759. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, September 12, at 10 am at St. John’s Church, 619 Chestnut St. Lakehurst, NJ 08733. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River, NJ.
