Fillippa “Phyllis” Ferra, 73, was born on October 27, 1952, in Newark, New Jersey, and passed away on April 14, 2026. She resided in Manchester, New Jersey. Before Manchester, Phyllis lived in Irvington and Lake Hopatcong.
Phyllis will be remembered as a devoted and cherished presence whose steady honesty and kind-hearted spirit shaped the lives of those around her. She had a way of making people feel truly important, meeting them with warmth and attention that never felt hurried or withheld. Above all, she was always there for her family—reliably, lovingly, and without hesitation—offering the quiet strength and care that made others feel safe and supported.
Phyllis worked as an insurance writer for Chubb Institute Insurance and in accounts receivable with Stavola for 25 years.
Phyllis enjoyed dancing and listening to music, especially Motown, Elvis and Italian. She loved to cook and host family at her home, she also enjoyed gardening and flowers, ceramics and anything to do with water, the ocean or a pool! But what Phyllis loved the most was her family.
Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, Vito and Mary Marchello, her brother, Sal Marchello, just a month ago, and husband of 11 years, Dennis Ferra, as well as her dog Jack Daniels. She is survived by her loving daughter and son; Michelle DeLisio-Keeler and her husband John, and Michael DeLisio and his wife Colleen, her cherished grandchildren; Brianna, Gianna, John J., Kharn, Kaylin and Sal, and granddog Zero as well as her dear sisters, Josephine Terranova and her husband, John and Maria Bennett and her husband, Michael, her sister in law Jeannie Marchello and niece and nephew, Marissa Marchello and Nicholas Marchello and his fiancée, Kirsten Walengewicz.
Memorial Visitation will be held at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759, US, on April 18, 2026, from 2 to 4 pm, with a funeral service to take place at 3:30 pm.
