

Frederick (Fred) “Butch” R. Britton, Jr., 77, of Jackson, NJ, passed away on Sunday, April 3rd, 2022 surrounded by his family. Fred was born on April 23rd, 1944 in Lakewood, NJ to his parents, Frederick Britton and Emma (nee Thompkins) Britton Gibson. It is here that he was raised and attended Lakewood High School. In 1963 at the age of 18, Fred joined the Army and served in Vietnam with the 1st Air Cav. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he worked for the CNJ Railroad for seven years. It was during this time that he married and raised his four children in Woodbridge, NJ. In 1972, he started his own company, Fred Britton Roofing which he ran until his retirement. Fred was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, camping and riding his motorcycle. He was also a very proud Vietnam Veteran.
Fred is survived by his children; Deanna Diehm, Matthew Britton and his wife Nicole, Jennifer Patterson and her husband, Rick, and Luke Britton and his wife Jessica, his ten grandchildren; Nicholas Patterson, Katherine Diehm, Shannon Patterson, Lauren Diehm, Emily Patterson, Sarah Britton, Joseph Diehm, Luke Britton, Angelina Britton and L.J. Britton and his sister Gigi Albertson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 9th, 2022, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester. Military honors will be presented at 4:30 pm. Condolences and tributes can be left for the family at www.andersoncampbellmanchester.com
