Gaetano (Guy) Rainone passed away peacefully at age 85 on February 27, 2023. Born and raised in Newark, he met the love of his life, Arlene, in high school. They settled in South Amboy for 30 years before starting a new chapter in Manchester, NJ.
Guy worked for many years at Fiske Brothers Refining in Newark and then at Delicious Orchards in Colts Neck, retiring in 2002 as manager of building services.
A US Army veteran, he joined the Leisure Knoll Veterans Club, proudly serving as a Board member, Captain of the honor guard and chair of the Nominating Committee. He was a loyal friend to many, had a great sense of humor and never passed up an opportunity to sing a Sinatra song. Guy was an avid gardener and loved to cook. He treasured his travels with Arlene, especially their Jamaican vacations, and he faithfully supported the NY Yankees and Giants.
He was predeceased by his wife Arlene, son Guy, and brother Michael. He is survived by his daughter Lisa Mills, son Ronald Rainone (wife Chris), and grandchildren Michael, Danny, Angela, Charlie, Joey, Kelly and Jason.
Visitation Saturday, March 4, at Anderson Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Rd, Manchester, NJ from 1-5 pm with a memorial service at 4pm. Private cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital are encouraged.
