Kenneth Daniel Adler, 86, of Manchester Township, NJ, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Friday April 7, 2023, at his home. Born in Newark, Kenneth grew up in Weehawken and then was enlisted into the US Navy in 1956. When he was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1957, Kenneth was set up on a blind date, by his best friend, with Sandra, and they were married in 1961. Kenneth worked as a transportation analyst for Woolworth Corp. and WT Grant for several years. All the while he was working fulltime, Kenneth also had a second job for Thom McAn, for over 30 years, making sure he provided for his family. They resided in Union until they moved to Manchester Township 22 years ago. While living in the Renaissance, Kenneth was very active in shooting pool, playing golf, and Bocce, of which he was the captain of the team. He would ride his bike to the clubhouse every opportunity he would get.
Kenneth was an avid Giants Football fan and loved his San Francisco Giants Baseball team too. Kenneth and his wife Sandy loved the beach and cruising. On their 25th Wedding Anniversary, they went on their first cruise to the Caribbean and fell in love with it…so much so, they enjoyed 33 cruises throughout their marriage.
Throughout his life, Kenneth was a hard worker and a good and honest person. There wasn't a person who didn't like Ken. He had 3 best friends from childhood that he still stayed in touch with. He was a true family man. His family was his everything and his grandchildren were the light of his life. Kenneth always let Sandy know how much he treasured and loved her, telling her every day that he possibly could.
Kenneth is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Sandra Adler, his dear daughter and sons; Leslie Vasta and her husband Christopher, Michael Adler, and Howard Adler and his wife Judith, his cherished grandchildren; Cameron, Stephanie, Cayla and Sophia, and his loving sister Bernice Schimenti.
