Mary Shenloogian, 94, of Manchester, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on April 23, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 18, 1931, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Mary was raised on Front Street. She and her beloved husband, Jack, were high school sweethearts, beginning a lifelong love story that spanned 74 years of marriage. As newlyweds, they lived in Geneva, New York, where Jack was stationed during his service in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. After their time in Geneva, Mary and Jack returned to Jersey City, where they welcomed their daughters, Sara, Jacqueline, and Kim.
In 1965, they moved to Edison, New Jersey, where they raised their family and later welcomed their son, Mark. The family also enjoyed a summer home in Seaside Park, New Jersey, where they shared many cherished gatherings at the beach. In 2006, Mary and Jack moved to the Renaissance in Manchester, where they happily resided ever since.
Mary was a devoted Catholic, and her faith was the foundation of her life. She served as a Eucharistic minister and lived her beliefs through her actions, always guided by compassion, humility, and service to others. Her deep spirituality shaped the way she cared for her family and community. Mary embraced life in her community and was an active member of the Bocce Club, Women’s Club, Italian Club, and Rosary Club. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing, often filling her home with music as she worked. Mary took great pride in keeping an impeccable home, and her love of cooking and entertaining made her the heart of countless family gatherings. She was endlessly devoted to her family—always present, always giving—earning her the affectionate title of the family’s “Domestic Goddess.” She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering love.
Mary was predeceased by her son, Mark Shenloogian. She is survived by her beloved husband of 74 years, Jack Shenloogian; her daughters: Sara Cielazewicz and her son Christopher Cielazewicz; Jacqueline Shenloogian and her son Jacob Greenberg; and Kim Manowitz and her husband Gary Manowitz, and their sons Jordan, Samuel, and Aaron Manowitz. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Pam Shenloogian, and her children Kayleigh Arneman and Zach Arneman (with his wife Alyssa).
