

Alan “Al” Keith Mottayaw, 62, of Dublin, passed away early Friday morning, August 17, 2012 at Hospice House in Ashland. Born March 8, 1950 in Mansfield, he was the son of the late Clark and Edith (Mawhorr) Mottayaw.
He was a graduate of Madison Comprehensive High School and graduated from The Ohio State University earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. Al was a lifetime resident of Mansfield and was formerly employed at Century Link as an IT Specialist. Al was the nicest guy you would ever meet and his caring and patient demeanor was evident wherever he went. He enjoyed the outdoors, earning the honor of Eagle Scout when he was younger. Al also enjoyed gardening and found great joy in spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sharon (Davis) Mottayaw; one brother, Wesley Mottayaw; nephews and nieces, Mike and Scott Mottayaw, Lynn Benavides, Rachel, Shannon, Johnathon and Robert; and numerous great-nieces and nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. Friends and family may visit beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Pastor Paul Lintern of Oakland Lutheran Church will conduct the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, James Cancer Research Hospital or Nature Conservancy.
