
Albert Scott, Sr., 73, of Mansfield, died Friday, October 27, 2006, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a long illness. Albert was born August 8, 1933, in Rosedale, Mississippi, to Jesse and Barbara King Jenkins. He moved to Mansfield and lived here for the past 51 years. He was an active member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where he served as an usher until his illness. He was employed at Gorman Rupp Pumps as a Painting Specialist. Albert's hobbies were playing pool, major league baseball and hunting. He was a great handyman who enjoyed repairing things around the house.
Albert leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Mary; the children of his former wife, Estella Scott whom are Sherlan Ricardo Carpenter of Columbus, OH, Dr. Albert Sabrina Scott, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Charles Stephanie Scott, Sr., Dorothy Johnny Hardin, Rosemary Darrin Marsh, all of Mansfield; additional children, Albert Sutton, Greg Sutton, Marcinda Duane Fisher, all of Mansfield, and Ruth Fuller of Columbus, OH; stepdaughter, Berniece Holder of Mansfield; brother, Johnny Maggie Hall of Monticello, MS; sister, Beatrice Waddell of Mansfield; uncle, Willie King of Benton Harbor, MI; twenty grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Barbara Jenkins, brothers, Willie Horn, John Amos and Eddie DuVall and sisters, Maude DuVall and Thereasa DuVall.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 4, 2006, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the church from 10-11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements. The family will receive friends at 308 3rd Ave. 41 524-7874 and 130 Washington Ave. 419 522-0135.
