Alice M. Beall Pierce, formerly of Coshocton died Friday, February 28, 2003 at Woodlawn Nursing Home in Mansfield after a long illness. Alice was born April 5, 1906 in Coshocton, Ohio to the late W.J. Jim and Lola Purdy Beall. Alice retired from General Electric in Coshocton before moving to Sebring, Florida. She was active in many Coshocton organizations and was a member of Grace Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son-in-law, David Binning of Mansfield, with whom she made her home; two granddaughters and their husbands, Michelle Jon Henry of Greenwich, Ohio and Erin Jeremy Hoard of Carson, Michigan; three great-granddaughters; two nieces; and one nephew. In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil K. Pierce; a stepdaughter, Lynn P. Binning; and two brothers, Donald and Leland Beall.
At Alice's request her body was donated to The Ohio State University. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date. Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements. Donations may be made to Grace Methodist Church or to the charity of the donor's choice.
