
Andy Ball, Jr., age 67, of 578 Lexington-Ontario Road, died Friday afternoon October 3, 2003 at home following an extended illness. Mr. Ball was born June 21, 1936 in Wayne County, West Virginia living in the Mansfield area since 1956. He retired from Shaffer Valve in 1978. Mr. Ball was an active member of Mansfield Baptist Temple, NRA and an avid coon hunter.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ruby P. Boyd Ball of Mansfield; a daughter, Deborah Eckenfels of Mansfield; four sons and daughters-in-law, Andy K. & Cheryl Ball of Mansfield, Robert Ball of Mansfield; Benjamin & Rachel Ball of Mansfield, and Donald Ball of Bellville, Ohio; sixteen grandchildren and their spouses, Andy K. Jr. & Mary, Jason, Michael, Mark, Donald Jr., Holly, Heather, James, Ryan, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Erin, Mason Ball, John Allen III, Jennifer & Cory Walker and Justin Miller; two great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Kurtz and Ruby Jean Walker; three sisters, Arva Collins of Mansfield, Esther Mahon of Willamson and Ida Lou Sorrell, both of Willamson, West Virginia; and a number of nieces and nephews. His parents, Andy Ball Sr. & Ruby Blanche Perry; a brother, Ballard Ball; a sister, Letha Farley; and four nieces & nephews preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Monday from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Mansfield Baptist Temple conducted by Rev. Dale Adkins. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Mansfield Baptist Temple or in care of the family.
