

Arthur Roy "Griff" Griffey, 77, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away at his home early Friday morning, November 6, 2020. He was born April 6, 1943, in Red Jacket, West Virginia to the late Alfonzo and Mary (Fitzpatrick) Griffey.
"Art" retired from General Motors after 30 years. He enjoyed golfing with his friends at Myrtle Beach and driving his motorcycle and corvette. Griff was a member of Mansfield First Assembly of God. He was known to be very good with his hands and put his talent to work. He not only built his own home, but helped build houses with his church family in El Salvador, Mexico and Louisiana.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Griffey; children, Matthew Griffey, Michael (Kathy) Griffey, Debra Dement, Dee (Jeff) Luttrell and Tina (Cornelius) Mehl; siblings, Billy (Pam) Griffey of Indiana, Margaret Griffey of New Lexington, OH and Joetta McClelland of Butler, OH; six grandchildren, Heather, Donny, Mickey, Anderson "Andy", Charles and Cody; and eight great-grandchildren, Lexis, Lauryn, Landon, Zander, Jayne, Kendall, Lucien and Jacob. He is preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at the Mansfield First Assembly of God, 1000 McPherson St, Mansfield, Ohio 44903. Service will follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Thomas Blair officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio or to the Cleveland Clinic of Mansfield. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to have served the family.
