

Barbara Kay Scott, 59, of Lexington, went to be with her husband Harvey on October 8, 2014. Born January 16, 1955 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Raymond Paul Butterbaugh and Beulah Bernice Strong. An area resident all her life, Barbara graduated from Malabar High School and went on to study accounting at North Central State College. She worked at Therm-O-Disc for ten years. More than anything, Barbara enjoyed being a parent, grandparent, and foster parent. Along with her husband, she had fostered 70 children. Barbara enjoyed helping people grow from her life experiences and passing on her wisdom. Hosting events in her home often, Barbara loved to cook, sew, and play board games and cards. She was a member of Sons of Herman and attended Real Life Community Church.
Surviving are her sons, Travis (Stephnie) Scott of Bucyrus and Spencer Scott of Lexington; daughter, Alisha Anable of Mansfield; grandchildren, Kael Scott, Gabriel Kraft, Paul Scott, Christopher Scott, Anna Scott, Gavin Anable, and Bryce Anable; mother and step-father, Beulah (Otto) Strong of Columbus; brothers, Gregory Butterbaugh, Timothy Butterbaugh, both of Colorado and Brian Butterbaugh and William Butterbaugh, both of Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Paul Butterbaugh and husband, Harvey R. Scott, who died November 24, 2012.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, October 13, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 14 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Pastor Mark Barth and Pastor Phil Green. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
