

Beecher Gene Adkins, 73, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away on Monday, January 25, 2016 at the Winchester Terrace Nursing Home. He was born to Jonah and Bertha (Isaac) Adkins on May 11, 1942 in Neal, West Virginia.
Beecher enjoyed spending time with family, and fishing with friends and family, especially his grandsons. He also enjoyed playing cards and horseshoes, working in his yard, and helping others with repairs or electrical work. He was a kind, well-respected man who never said a negative comment about anyone. Everyone loved his big heart and sense of humor.
Beecher is survived by his daughter, Cosetta R. (Neal) Adkins of Norwalk, Ohio; his son, Joe H. Adkins; nine grandchildren, Heath, Derek, Damian, Christopher, Curtis, Elyse, Kyle, Ryan, and Caden; his great-grandchildren, Parker, Paige, Dylan, Preston, Kyli, Piper, Dakota, Kailyn, Karsyn, Nolan, Quinn, Tristan, Austin, Juliette, Blake, and Mason; his brother, Daniel (Betty) Adkins; his sisters-in-law, Flora Adkins, Freida Adkins, Sandra (Anthony) Christo, Evelyn (Bob) Simmons, Linda (Allen) Bartram, and Betty Jo Adkins; brothers-in-law Dean (Mary) Adkins, and Bernie (Loretta) Adkins; his special niece, Billie Daley and many other nieces and nephews; also his friends, Jack Stancotto and Bill Fraley.
Beecher was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Kay Adkins; his son, Gary Gene Adkins; his parents; and his brothers, John Bill Adkins, and Charles Adkins.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield, Ohio. A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Clifford Earl Tackett, will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 2:00 pm also at the Diamond Street Home, with additional visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Springmill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made Hospice of North Central Ohio.
